Happy Birthday to Henderson!

Henderson's birthday was Friday, and there's nothing I love more than celebrating my husband.  He really wanted to go to the DFW Auto Show on Saturday since he's in the market for a new truck.  But I had a surprise up my sleeve so I convinced him to go on Friday night.  And it was a great excuse to eat at Tillman's Roadhouse in the Bishop Arts District.

Henderson at Tillman's

When we got home Friday night, I gave him his cards and gifts.  In one of them was a poem I had written just for the weekend.  The poem described how we were going to get up Saturday morning and head to Fort Worth for a fun over-night stay!  We started off at the zoo!

The baby elephants made an appearance!

It was the best weather to be out exploring the zoo!  Not cold at all!

We then headed to the Stockyards to check-in at the Stockyards Hotel and grab a late lunch.  We ate at Risky's BBQ and since it was in the stockyards, I wasn't expecting anything good but I was very surprised!  I had the brisket tacos and they were so delish!

We continued walking around the stockyards and shopping until it was time to get ready for dinner.

I made reservations at Reata and it was so good!!

They gave us free champagne to celebrate.

We went back to the hotel and had drinks at the bar.  I couldn't resist a photo shoot!

Sunday morning was the Fort Worth Marathon and we got to watch it from our window.  It was so much fun to watch and I even saw a few people I knew!  We had breakfast at the hotel and then headed home.  Such a nice getaway with my love!!

Valentine's Day

Love is in the air!  I love Valentine's Day.  It's a great excuse to spend time with my awesome hubs and I get flowers.  Win, win!  Henderson and I usually hate to brave the crowds (we like to wait until next weekend when we can celebrate his birthday) and since V-Day was on a Friday, we decided to do Fine China Friday!

Table is set!

Nothing better than meat and potatoes!

My two favorite men!

Saturday morning I decided to put my cookie cutters to good use and I made some homemade heart-shaped cookies!

Weekend in Vicksburg

This weekend I headed east to see my friend Lauren's new house!  It was such a great weekend of catching up, especially about Baby Different!  Whitney even came over from Jackson so that we could all be reunited again!  I got in about 11 Friday night and we hung out around the house Saturday morning unpacking boxes.  Whitney got there around lunchtime and we headed to Rusty's for a delicious lunch.  I had a shrimp po-boy that made me miss living in Mississippi even more!  We even got to stop at Bop's for ice cream afterwards.  Even though it was a super short trip (I headed out Sunday morning) I loved getting some girl time with two of my best friends!
