There's so much I could say about the last 365 days. I could mention the people who have supported us. I could talk about how our love for Texas has multiplied tenfold. I could mention the fact that some days we are infinitely happier people than we were last year and some days we are much sadder. Or maybe I could talk about how even though this isn't the life we planned, it's still an amazing life. I could mention how anger and bitterness almost swallowed me whole. I could even list the ways our lives are forever changed. I could talk about how I can't remember a time when "Portia" wasn't poking me in my sleep or when my left arm wasn't sore. I could complain about expanders or my hair. I could talk about how our friendships have deepened and how our marriage has grown in the past year. I even thought about making a list of what to say/not to say to a recently diagnosed cancer patient (hint: just say something. To a cancer patient, silence is deafening, especially from loved ones.) But at the end of the year, the only thing there is to say is We Survived and Thrived.

San Fran!
A few weeks ago, a few coworkers and I headed to San Francisco for Host Analytics World. Host Analytics is a software we use at work so this conference provided lots of great tips!
Monday afternoon we started the week off with a welcome reception and drinks by the water!
Tuesday afternoon after a long day of classes
Tuesday night we decided to skip the conference activities and head to the ocean! #selfiestick
It was so pretty! But we wanted to walk on the beach...
So, we found this rickety, personal made ladder. Scary but worth it!
I won an AppleTV as a door prize!
Wednesday night the whole conference headed to the California Academy of Sciences. They had a DJ but only our team wanted to dance! His equipment was so awesome! You can see in this picture how his screen was like a glass window. So cool!
Picture with Tick and Tie!
#selfiestick on the bus ride home
Thursday we headed back to Dallas to implement everything we had learned! Fun work week with some great coworkers!
